Asian inspired Patties - Mushroom, Water Chestnut and Spring Onion


  • 100g Natures Meal dry mix
  • 80ml boiling water or stock
  • 20ml Xiao Xing Chinese cooking wine
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp chilli or sweet chilli sauce
  • 2 finely chopped brown or shiitake mushrooms
  • 3-4 finely chopped water chestnuts (these add a fantastic texture!)
  • 1cm finely grated ginger or 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 clove finely grated garlic or 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 2-3 storks finely chopped spring onion
  • chopped fresh coriander to taste (optional)


  1. Pour boiling water and cooking wine over dry mix and combine.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and combine well.
  3. Form patties or smaller meat ball sized portions.
  4. Cook in a pan, under a grill or on a BBQ.
